Privacy policy
Effective date: 26 October 2026. Fieldnotes is provided by BE A MAN PTY LTD. Contact: [email protected].
Your fieldwork stays on your device
Projects, point IDs, notes, photos, annotations, sketches and generated reports are stored locally. Fieldnotes has no project-content server or automatic project cloud sync. We do not receive this content unless you choose to send it to us. Sharing, exporting or saving backups sends files to the destination you select. Device backups and services such as iCloud are controlled by your Apple settings and their providers.
Purchases
Apple processes payments. RevenueCat verifies purchases and restores lifetime access. These services process purchase history, product and transaction identifiers, purchase status and a randomly generated app user identifier, together with technical information needed to provide the purchase service. We use purchase information for app functionality and purchase analytics. We do not receive your payment-card details. Fieldnotes does not ask you to create an account or connect the anonymous purchase identifier to your name or email. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy .
Permissions and support
Camera and photo-library access let you add selected photos. Project content is not sent to RevenueCat. When you email support, we receive your address, message and any attachments you choose to include. Optional diagnostics are included only when you choose to share them. We use this information to respond and troubleshoot, not for advertising.
Tracking, retention and your choices
The app contains no advertising SDK and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Local revisions and backups may retain earlier content. Delete unwanted local records and separately saved backups; uninstalling removes the app’s local container. Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase records for restoration, accounting and legal obligations. Contact us to request access to or deletion of support correspondence and any personal information we hold, subject to applicable retention requirements.
This website and changes
The documentation site uses hosting services and website usage analytics; these do not receive your local Fieldnotes projects. Network requests may expose technical connection information to the hosting provider. We may update this policy and will publish the updated date here.
